Young people showing the way..
I
am so proud of all of our young people.
In so many ways they really show all of us “the way” of the spiritual
life in the way that they serve Christ.
Last week both our Youth Group (grades 6-12) AND our Children’s Ministry
(k-5) collected donations and went shopping for children in our community in
need. Their purchases are being donated
to Clothe Our Kids, a local
non-profit agency whose mission is to provide at-risk children and needy
children with clothing and shoes.
Operating through our local school systems, Clothe Our Kids, is a way for us to fulfill the love of Christ by
sharing with others and taking care of our community’s most precious citizens-
our children. This is a great ministry
that is making a difference all over our area and we are proud to be a part of this
great work.
I am especially proud of our young people,
many of whom made contributions out of their own pockets to pay for the socks,
underwear, toboggans, coats, jackets and scarfs so that other children will
have warm clothes to wear as the weather turns colder. Other donations were made by church members
and in memory of sister Christine Warren, who so loved our children, hundreds
of dollars were spent. Clothe Our Kids
exists on the donations from churches, individuals and businesses here
locally. If you or anyone else would
like to make donations I would point you to their website at www.clotheourkids.com or on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/clotheourkids).
Clothing
donations can be dropped off at:
Clothe Our Kids
200 North Main Ave
Fayetteville, TN 37334
I
always love sharing good news when I hear it and here are folks doing lots of
good in our community. May God bless
them and us as we endeavor to serve Him right here in Lincoln County.
