Funeral services for Jesse Knox McAlister, age 90 of Taft, will be conducted Sunday at 3 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Harvell officiating. Burial will follow in Blanche Cemetery beside his wife Inez McAlister who passed away in 2005. Mr. McAlister passed away Wednesday in Huntsville Hospital.

Sis. Mary Pierce passes away

We regret to announce the passing of a dear sister in Christ, Mary Pierce, early this morning (Tuesday.) Our thoughts and prayers are with John, Ricky, SaraJo and the family. Higgins has posted the following...

Funeral services for Mary Owena Ellis Pierce, age 81 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Friday at 2 PM at Washington Street Church of Christ with Bro. Jim Black officiating. Burial will follow in Wright’s Cemetery. Mrs. Pierce passed away Tuesday morning in Lincoln Care Center.
She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Mattie Belle Honea Ellis. Mrs. Pierce was a nurse, operator of the Honey Bear Day Care and a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband John Allen Pierce of Fayetteville, son Ricky Pierce and wife Sara Jo of Fayetteville, grandchildren Andrea Delap and husband Randy of Fayetteville, Beth Jones and husband Zach of Memphis and Dale Pierce of Nashville, two great-grandchildren Aron and Georgia Jones, brother and sisters Jennie Lineberger and the late Maurice Lineberger of Bradenton, FL, Nadine Hodges and the late Charlie Hodges of Ardmore, T. J. Ellis and wife Florine of Ardmore, Shirley Russell and husband Don of Pulaski, Gail Posey and husband Billy of Ardmore, David Ellis and wife Shirley of Blanche, Wade Ellis and wife Peggy of Shelbyville.
Visitation with the family will be Friday from 12 PM until time of services at 2 PM at Washington Street Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Washington Street Church of Christ Building Fund or the Honduras Mission Fund.
Higgins Funeral Home is assisting the family of Mary Ellis Pierce.
