Some good news

We're glad to share a bit of good news for a change...

Eric Yatsko was released and able to come home on Wednesday. He still have a long recovery ahead of him, but he is light years from where he started! He & Lisa want to thank the fellows who built the wheelchair ramp at his house. They hope to return it soon.

Kim Cox is responding well to treatment at St. Thomas and doctors are hopeful that she will make a full recovery. Prayers to Lyman and the whole Cox family.

Little Porter Jackson is also improving each day. He is now out of ICU and in a regular hospital room at St. Judes. (Praise God for St. Jude!) He is being treated for seizures brought on by an infection on his brain. His immune system was radically affected by anti-rejection medication from his bone marrow translpant. He is still one sick little boy, but his situation looks much better!

Friday-- Eric

Friday morning, Nov. 13
Stacy Johnson got to visit Eric this morning and reports that Eric is continuing to improve a bit each day. He is able to breathe much better and is slowly being weaned from the ventilator. Continue to pray for his lungs to heal, both from their pneumonia (which he had prior to the accident) as well as the injuries sustained in the accident. He has been able to sit up and is able to communicate better each day.
He still has much healing to do... so keep him in your prayers!

Tuesday afternoon update

I was able to get up and see Eric this afternoon and very glad to report that he is some better. He is showing signs of improvement every day and very much improved since the last time I saw him. It is slow, but steady. He was awake, very alert and we had a good visit. He knows that we are all praying for him. Lisa is also very thankful for all the prayers and all of the outpouring of love that they have recieved.

Please let us know in the church office if you plan on making a visit... we may have stuff to send up with you.

To receive regular updates on Eric Yatsko’s condition, please go to the website and click on “E-News blog” at the bottom of the screen.  Once there you will need to “subscribe” to the blog and you will be notified each time we update the E-news blog with announcements or updates on Eric’s condition.  I do not plan to send out mass e-mails to the VOICE distribution list… as this is a wide distribution list that is sent “far & wide.”

Please keep he and Lisa in your prayers.  God bless,

Update... Thursday, Nov. 5

Eric Yatsko remains in stable but very serious condition in Vanderbilt's trauma unit following an automobile accident on Tuesday morning. He sustained substantial internal injuries and underwent surgery on Tuesday to remove his spleen. He is responsive, but heavily sedated due to the extent of his injuries. Lisa and the kids, Stephen & Ashley covet your prayers. His condition last night was unchanged and we have not heard a report today.

Sandy George is collecting donations to help with "incidental expenses" for Lisa and the kids as she is spending much of her time by Eric's side and the children are with her brother, Mike, here in Fayetteville. Gift cards for eateries in and around Vanderbilt are being considered. Contact Sandy if you would like to help.

Lynda Pigg was admitted to St. Thomas yesterday following a heart attack. She underwent a stint procedure and is recovering. Keep her in your prayers also.

Come back to this E-News blog regularly as we'll be posting updates as we recieve them... or register for updates by signing up in the right-hand column and become a subscriber. Note that this is different from the church's regular e-mail distribution list for the weekly VOICE bulletin.
